DIY Fall Sign

The 2 Seasons
by The 2 Seasons
I was spending some time in my craft room and decided to put a burlap canvas to use. It measures 8 x 10, and i thought the burlap would make it seem an interesting background for a season craft.
I was making a fall vignette for an area in our kitchen, and I wanted to create something rustic to add some interest to the grouping.
I thought it would be fun to use the canvas to replicate a French grain sack. The first thing I did was tape off the areas that needed to be painted, and then I used brown acrylic craft paint. It came out just the way I hoped.
Then I took some scraps of wood I had on hand for the letters. I did not want it to be perfect so it was easy to form the word FALL with the pieces. Once they looked the way I wanted them to, I attached them to the canvas with a glue gun.
This would be a fun project for kids to do with some adult supervision. To learn more about this craft and to see some other seasonal ideas for a similar craft, please visit our blog.
