DIY Framed Chalkboard Tutorial

We made this VERY simple framed chalkboard for our downstairs play area. You can make this!
WeBaby H has a play area upstairs and one downstairs. Originally I wanted to do a chalkboard wall in the upstairs loft area. I thought it'd be super fun, but JG quickly nixed that idea (In the end I'm glad he did). So we ended up compromising on a big framed chalkboard.
After a small hiccup with my homemade chalkboard paint (I didn't properly mix in all the clumps), things went smoothly. - See more at: http://thehuth.blogspot.com/2013/08/diy-framed-chalkboard.html

He's a little young for it right now; he uses it to pull up on and tries to lick up as much chalk as he can :-)
It's nailed directly into the wall so it's very secure
We really love how the playroom is coming together :-)
Rust-Oleum Sun Yellow for the frame and Behr Elephant Skin for the chalkboard
We clamped everything together and used small screws to attach the board directly onto the frame from the back.
Used paintable caulking to fill in any gaps between the board/frame and mitered corners
Ready to be mounted on the wall!
