Diy Laundry Room Vintage Washboard Art

Here is a cute and easy Diy Laundry Room Vintage Washboard Art!
I am working on a few projects right now so hopefully you’ll get to see lots of pretty new things and rooms this week. One of them is our laundry room and I’m hoping to show you that in the next day or so. In the meantime here is a fun and easy project for you.
I found this vintage washboard at a yard sale a few weeks ago for $1. Can you believe that? And I have found them thrifting for a few dollars and sold them in our store too.
Start with a washboard like this one.
Here is what I used:
Twine – I already had from my burlap wreath and sweater pumpkins projects
Burlap – I already had bought a bag for $3.99 and used before
Black n white stripe fabric scraps – I had
Chalkboard bridal nametags – I bought at Michaels $6.99 – 40% off = $4.20 for pack (I used two cards) so there are many more left
White Chalk – box was $1.49
On Sundays we like to do a combo of relaxing…….well my hubby relaxes and watches football and I work on some kind of project on our house and then I bug him to come and help me, which he loves very much. I usually have to time it on breaks or half times….lol. Today I needed his help in hanging a chandelier in the Laundry Room, which didn’t get hung because of the current electrical wiring, but I came up with a really cool light fixture solution so I will show you that soon. Then, on the weekends my daughter goes to her dad’s we drive about an hour out to get her, and then an hour back. Today his Steelers were playing so I drove alone and he made dinner. He’s great in the kitchen….ooohhhh and he made his yummy meatloaf and I will share that recipe this week too. So while I was driving and thinking about the Laundry Room, and the cabinets I had painted, and the new knobs I put on, and the animal print fabric I covered totes with and the cool vintage keys I painted and this great washboard. I was daydreaming about painting words on the wall and then this popped in my head. This washboard and then the little flags idea came to me and I’ve seen the cute saying “Wash, Fold, Repeat” in many ways. So I planned it out on my drive and then I picked up my beautiful girl and we got a Starbucks as a big treat and drove back, but hit Michaels real quick for these chalkboard cards and some modge podge too. We had some great girl talk and I found out who the boy was that she was talking to after tennis the other day too. We got home and the hubs had the yummy meatloaf dinner ready too. Ahhh…..Happy. Ok back to the washboard. I cut triangles of the burlap, stripes and the chalkboard cards. I just drew them freehand, didn’t want anything fancy. I then glued the three pieces together and wrote on my chalkboard cards “Wash, Fold and Repeat.” I then glued them on the twine and then laid them onto the board to see where I wanted them to land. I used a few clothespins and clipped them on. I then glued a few dots to hold them onto the board but easily remove someday if I want a new look too.
I love the way it turned out and it’s so darn cute in my laundry room. You can take a tour of the Laundry Room too. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great day, Lisa
