Need a quick and easy decorative accent that you can make for any room?
All you need are some leftover boards, a little paint, some imagination, and if you are like our family, you’ll need a sense of humor too.

I took the leftover pieces of barnwood from this bathroom makeover and ripped them on the saw. You could definitely use new boards that have been stained and sanded to give it a salvaged look.

I gave the pieces a light sanding and used my stock of acrylic paints to give 2 of the boards a barn red coat of paint.
Then I simply freehanded the silly sayings onto the boards.
Once the signs were dry, I prepared them for hanging with a simple wire and round screw hooks.
They look so cute in my kids’ bathroom and they definitely give us some laughs when we read them!
Try these simple signs in any room of your house. They would be perfect for personalizing rooms with family names, special dates, or any important verses or sayings in your home.
