DIY Pennant Flag

I love the look of canvas pennant flags and wanted to add one to the nursery wall to finish it off. I found a blank one on Amazon and added text with a sharpie. So simple and affordable!

I printed off the chosen quote in the font that I wanted which I created in Microsoft Word.

I then positioned it centrally and stuck it to the reverse side of the canvas with masking tape.

I traced over the font with a pencil by holding the flag against a window.

I then took a brand new sharpie with a fine tip and filled in the wording.

Once I had finished the text I held it up to the window again to make sure it was all complete.I also went over the lettering a second time to fill in any gaps in the weave of the fabric.

Before hanging the sign on the wall I ironed out the creases. Ironing sharpie on fabric is also supposed to make it more permanent when used this way.

The finished sign! This was such a cheap and easy DIY and I love that you can add any wording that you like. I chose this because my youngest son is my wild one so it suited him so well!

The flag also filled the blank space on this wall so nicely.

This project was so quick and simple and I love the result!
