I have been seeing the wood round door hangers and signs all over Pinterest, and I love the look of them and the many ways you can personalize them and tailor them to the person you are gifting them to. So, one of my DIY gifts this past Xmas were DIY personalized wood round signs that I painted or stained, and then personalized with my Cricut. They are so easy and fairly inexpensive to make and the design possibilities are endless, so I thought I’d share some of the designs I used for my signs.

Here is an abbreviated description of how I created the wood round signs. For full details and more pictures, visit my website to see the full post: https://www.pinspiredtodiy.com/diy-wood-round-sign/

I purchased the wood rounds on Etsy. but you can also purchase them on Amazon (or make them if you have the correct tools). You can use the same method I used to cut rounds for my DIY Farmhouse Clocks that I built.

  1. Stain or paint (or both) the wood rounds to the colors of your choosing. I chose a mixture of each for my signs I was making.

2. While the stain and paint are drying, create your designs in Design Space or purchase designs online and upload them into Design Space.

3. Cut out the designs on heat transfer vinyl using the colors of your choice

4. Use a heat press to adhere the designs to the wood rounds.

5. Use jute and a staple gun to create a hanger on the back of the wood round.

6. Create a bow using wired ribbon and attach to the wood round.

7. Once the bow was attached, I also attached faux greenery to each side of the bow.

Here are some of the final, finished wood signs I made as gifts for family:

There are many different designs you can create with these wood rounds and they make wonderful gifts for any occasion: Mother’s Day, housewarming, baby shower, new baby, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and more! Let your creativity flow with these signs!
