This is a super simple, and beautiful wall letter board! I first saw this project on Pinterest, and fell in love. It's just so pretty! This project is really easy; and can be finished in just a couple hours or so.

Supplies needed

This project will require some form of shelving, nails, greenery, and the letters.

I was very lucky, and found a box of these little holders at a thrift store for free! There were quite a few pieces in the box; and I knew they would be perfect for this project! They remind me of scrabble letter holders.

You can also use 1x2's, and a table saw to create the grooves for the letters.

You will also need florals (I used garland), letters, nails, push pins, and glue. I will explain each item more in depth below.

Letter holders

As I mentioned, you could always use a saw and 1x2s to create you shelving. I used these, since I found them for free. If you choose to go the route I did, I have included a link (in the supplies list) to scrabble tile holders, which seem to be the same thing.

Where to find your greenery

One question I get asked the most is, where I got my eucalyptus. I purchased two garlands from Joann's craft store. They have a variety of floral garlands; so you can always go with something that is more fitting for you. Of course, you can also find garland at Micheals and Hobby Lobby. I waited until the garland were on sale, and paid around $8 per garland.

The letters

Based on the pinterest tutorial I used, these Heidi Swapp light box letters were suggested. I found these on Amazon. They are the perfect size for this project. I ordered two boxes; but wish I had ordered at least one more. So, my suggestion is purchase at least three boxes, to have a sufficient amount of letters on hand. The link can be found below, in the supplies list.

Creating your shelving

As I stated above, I chose to use these little holders I found at a thrift store. I used a total of 12 holders, to create four shelves.

In order to attach them to the wall, I needed to first apply small tooth hangers to the back of each. I purchased 2 packages of picture hanger kits, (which can be found in most stores.) I think I purchased mine at Target. I then used E6000 glue to attach each hanger to the top middle of each holder. I personally love this glue! It has a nice strong hold!

After each hanger was glued on, I glued three holders together, end to end, to create a shelf. Once again, I used E6000 glue for this as well. It's very important to let the glue dry before hanging, or they may come apart.

Putting shelving up

After the holders were glued together, and ready to be hung, It was time for measurements.

Each shelf is 24" from end to end.

There are 4.5" between each shelf

The entire project, from top to bottom, is 35". You can always use different measurements, depending how big you want your board.

After ensuring my shelves were in place, I took a pencil and placed a small mark on the wall, right above each hanger on the back of the shelf. I then placed small nails at the mark, and hammered them in. I hung each hanger up on the nails. I did this for all four shelves.

Depending what material you use, you should not need heavy duty nails, as the letters weigh nothing.

Hanging garland

I chose to hang my garland after putting my shelves up. I folded my garland in half before hanging it. By doing so, it creates a fuller look. Depending how much you want your garland to circle your shelves, you may decide not to fold it like I did.

I chose to use push pins to hang the garland. I always like push pins because they leave less damage on the walls. To get the garland up, I placed push pins throughout the garland, on the wall. I added one push pin in the top, middle, and bottom, to secure it to the wall.

After it was up, I continued placing pins throughout the garland, making sure it was nice and secure. It's best to try pinning close to the stem of the garland, and hiding the pins under the leaves. I've circled a push pin, in the picture above, to give you an idea of what I'm referring too. There is no set number of pins required. Use as many as needed.

Complete project

Once you have your letter board up and have received your letters, you're all set to go!
