So much of my inspiration comes from Pinterest. I shop Pinterest like some women shop for shoes. This project being no exception, Of course, no two artworks can be the same. This tutorial tells you the "how to".

Cut nine 2"x2" squares using a sturdy cardboard (back of tablet)

Cut five 2"x2" variety of fabrics with texture: burlap, burlap ribbon, cheesecloth, cross-stitch material, loose weave used in "Dapper Dan"

Cut four 2"x2" using a variety of materials: rice paper, corrugated cardboard, corrugated cardstock, patterned cardstock. And then, of course there is the Mystery Box.

Each of the 2"x2" fabrics and materials are mounted to the cardboard squares using MomPodge. I spread the MomPodge to the top pf the cardboard, the bottom of the material, join together and then add another layer of MomPodge to the very top. For added interest, I added twine and raffia (x2). We'll get to that Mystery Box.

Before permanently mounting the squares, I "jerry-rigged" guidelines by clamping paint stirrers on the borders to insure the outter lines are all the same. And I left a little clue for you to guess what it might contain. Can you guess what's in there?

I first mounted the four corners, moving the guidelines as needed. Then I mounted the outer centers and finally the very center, using hot glue gun. Finally we are ready for that Mystery Box! Time to break it out.

The final touches come from my sea shells collection. Did you guess correctly? Follow the link below for my recipe on "MomPodge".
