Easy Farmhouse Eggs-for-Sale Sign

Do you love all the vintage signs you see on Hometalk and Pinterest? There's an easier way if you don't own a silhouette or cricut.

After I found the perfect size board for my sign I painted it white and created the graphic on Photoshop Elements while it dried. You could also use MS Word.

Originally I wanted to make this sign using transfer paper since I don't have a cutting machine, but I kept having issues with shaky hands so I got frustrated and went to Plan B. It was really a hail-mary because my post was due the next day.

You can read about the full melt down of Plan A in my post linked up at the bottom. icon

I decided it would be best, easiest, fastest (since it was such a small sign), to use the graphic I created as the sign itself. And not as a template.

After repainting the surface of the board to cover my wobbly paint marker lines I was ready to try again.

I attached the sign with some Mod Podge and it was really perfect. When the sign was dry it needed a boarder so using some black craft paint the edge of the board became a frame. It's a small sign so I kept the border thin as well.

Once the paint tried I used some leftover jack chain from my Tin Can Lanterns to hang it. You can see the full tutorial to learn how I attached the chain on my blog post linked below.

I think you'll appreciate the humor when you see where I hung my "Eggs for Sale" sign icon
