Easy Display Ledge From Salvaged Crown Molding

I have been a junker since I was a kid. I can easily spend an entire day treasure hunting in my local salvage shops. One of my favorite spots in the store is the salvaged moldings area.

Stacks of bits and pieces pulled from old buildings are just waiting to be turned into something new. I found a perfectly chippy and aged piece of door crown molding that I repurposed into a display ledge.

I lightly sanded it to remove the loose bits of paint, gave it a good cleaning, and then added a couple of D Rings to the back. I hung it on my wall over my couch by securing it with drywall anchors. This is a seriously easy and fast project.

I styled it for spring with a few vintage milk bottles and mason jars filled with ranuculus.

The ledge is just the right size to display a few pretty objects without getting in the way when sitting on the couch.

For all the details, please stop by my blog. Happy treasure hunting to my fellow junkers!

I am a retired DIYer who has looked for such "building materials Junkyards" in the Central NJ (or New Jersey/Eastern PA) without luck. How do you go about finding them? How have asked many of the building trade personnel without luck also. Are they a great secret?

I find this to be very beautiful and it could go with any decor by using a colour we like too. The white is fresh and lovely. My question is what is the name of the roses please? The "look" of the roses is what I am trying to find to plant in my zone 4 garden. Thank you if you have the time and thanks for the pretty look.

I love your all white décor with pastel accents. Where did you purchase your sofa? I have been looking for one like that for years.
