Easy Frame Makeover

If you go thrifting you can find some beautiful frames. Unfortunately, the artwork is not your desired taste. Well this is how to update it with new artwork all the same time making the print fit without a matte.

First you start out with your frame and artwork. I cleaned my frame and glass with windex. My picture is attached with screw backings. Having a paper back you will have to be cleaver. My artwork is an actual piece of a firm material that serves as the backing and artwork combo.

I used a screwdriver to remove the backing. This is the simple step.

Now it’s time to put a cover on the artwork. When doing this part you want your wrapping paper to blend in nicely with your print. I chose to crinkle my paper for my look. You do not need to do this especially if using colorful wrapping paper. The options are endless.

I used scotch tape to fasten to the back of the wood type piece. The actual artwork in my case. If yours is separate you would just fasten to the cardboard insert that most frames have.

I purchased my artwork by a company called paperhouseprintshop.

My pieces measure 11 x 13 so the glass in this frame is bigger than the print. This is how I thought of making it work instead of getting a matte for it or even making one myself.

I used two piece of tape rolled to fasten the print to the wrapping paper. Make sure to center it evenly before attaching.

Then screw on the backing.

Below are a few samples of the art pieces I picked up. I wanted to share how each one worked beautifully with the backing wrapping paper I picked out. I will be able to switch them out for the seasons, holidays or just for displaying year round.

I love how it blends perfectly with the brown wrapping paper.

I have twin frames so Santa and the carol music sheet will be the ones I will use first for the holiday.

Look how pretty it looks. Simple and easy makeover. I hope you enjoyed the *tip*.

Thank you for looking check out my other creations for more inspiration.
