Pick up some old film slides at the thrift store, and turn them into a pretty sun catcher.

Gather your supplies together. You can use either hardware pliers or jewelry pliers, since you don't need to do too much with them. They don't have to be super strong.

Take apart the chain by bending the opening of the link away from itself. Don't pull it apart. Slide it sideways open. Take all the links apart, and set them aside.

Use a drill bit big enough for the chain links to fit through the holes it makes. Drill into the top and bottom of each slide.

Link to slides together with a single chain link.

Use the pliers to slide the link back closed. Make sure it's closed tightly enough that the slide can't slip through the opening.

Hook together as many slides as you want to make a long sun catcher. Hang it in a window to catch the light through the slides. It will make a great conversation piece when guests come over and want to look to see what is pictured in each slide!
