Take something ugly and make something fabulous with just cardboard, scissors, glue, a measuring tape and some sandpaper. I'm sure most people have all these supplies just laying around the house. I love to use things I have to make something new.
Supplies you'll need:
Scissors
Glue gun and glue sticks
Measuring tape
Pen
Wood word
 Sandpaper
Old frame or wood box

I had an old wood framed wood box picture that was pretty ugly. So I just covered it up! I had made this box a while back using scrap wood and 1x1 for the edges.
First , I grabbed a piece of cardboard and glued it over the tractor, this was quick and easy I simply measured the inside of the box which was 9.5" and turned over the cardboard to the flat side using my pen I marked my size. One at end, middle and far end. I then laid the box over the marked lines using the edge to give a straight line. Then used my scissors to cut nice and straight.
Then using my glue gun, I glued the corner and all the edges continuing to do all the way around till it was glued in nice and tight.
After that was secured I decided to distress the edges so I grabbed my sand paper and roughed up the edges.
I grabbed this wood word that I had cut out on a laser machine. This was just sitting in a box with other words that I may do the same with.  I like the laser better then the CNC because it looks like its been burned on the edges and that gives the natural look. I took my word and simply used the hot glue gun and glued it to the cardboard
This was an easy way to use stuff just laying around the house to create something unique and new.
I placed it on my black sideboard and it looks fantastic. Look around your house and see what you have laying around to make some great crafts.
