I've always wanted one of these bells and one day on one of my thrift store Journeys I came across one. It needed a little bit of work but it had a bunch of charm still left in it.
Here is a before of the bell! I have a feeling it was outside with some sort of bar or lounge or something because it was in pretty bad shape. But I had hope ;)
First I clean the Bell up with my favorite cleaners! Bar Keepers Friend was an old cleaner that my grandma used to use to clean the copper on the bottom of her pots. It takes a little bit of elbow grease but it's totally worth it to get it nice and shiny and back to New Again!!!!
I had a ton of my paint laying around and just use the dry brush technique back and forth up and down side by side to create the look achieved above. As you can tell I love the nautical beachy look.
And then attach this welcome Medallion over the front of it and hung it right by my front door! No visitors can ring my doorbell or Ring My Bell in the front of my house. Ding ding!!!
