I was inspired by Heather Stags Garcia's post, and I just decided to go for it!
I had something hanging in my living room for a while, but I really didn't like it, so I was looking for something that would POP.
And who doesn't love glitter?

I bought a lot of glitter!
And mod podge! And some foam brushes.
First I drew my straight lines with a ruler. I wanted the same 'burst' effect that Heather had, so I made my first line in the middle and then followed around with the rest. I also put down masking tape to make sure I put the glitter in between the lines. Picked out which color glitter would go where, and got started!
I used the foam roller to paint mod podge in a section and then put the glitter on generously. I did opposite sections to let each one dry and made my way in. Here, you can see the middle of the process. I used a regular paint brush to remove the excess glitter where it started to get clumpy, wiped it into a piece of paper, and then filled in the empty spaces. It actually took a while!
And here's my finished project!
A nice BURST for my living room icon

I truly love this DIY!! You did an absolutely beautiful job! My question is this: even though you used "canvas" Do you think it would look nice with a set of white lights either poked thru the canvas or strung behind it??
