Four fence pickets @ 99 cents each make the base for Large Wall Art. A Blue Jay feather will be a colorful impact piece for your home this Spring and Summer. Here are some tips on how to paint this for your home.
You really only need 4 paint colors. A blend of these will make all of the graduated colors, gray to dark navy.
After sketching a rough outline of your feather , build the color blend by starting with a light gray at the bottom of the feather.
Add light blue next.
Darker Blue blends into the dark navy at the top.
Paints will be wet and can blend as you drag your brush from the center out.
Punch in some black. Pull down to soften lines.
Use white background paint to pull into feather to make separation. Use a smaller flat brush for this. Add gray fine feathers with liner brush.
