Magnetic Photo Frame
With so many uses for old wooden frames I love finding new ones. Follow along as this wooden artist frame gets a magnetic new life. 
I always look for solid wood artist frames, they are well made and perfect to upcycle.
As always scrub them well and let dry.
This frame has great carved detailing around the edges. A light grey paint was painted on and wiped back while wet to enhance the carved details and give an aged look.
For the center I chose metal wire which can be used to clip on photos, recipes or notes using mini clothespins. Jewelry can be hung from it and depending on the size of the squares; sunglasses too. The funnest bonus of the wire mesh is that it is wire is metal which makes it magnetic to magnets so things can be easily hung.
Installing the wire however is a bit of a task and may result in some wounds as shown above. But once it is all cut to size, bent and stapled in it is all good. I like to use a power stapler to be sure the wire is very secure. Another good reason why it is important to choose solid wood frames.
Then flip around and your project is done and ready to display whatever you choose.
