Recently I gave my bedroom a refresh and had an accent wall behind my bed that I redid also. You can check out my post here. I love how my wall turned out but I felt it was missing something. I have always loved the signs with the quote always kiss me goodnight on them and wanted to create one for my bedroom wall. I made this one using items from the dollar store.

So to start this project you will need one large canvas from the dollar store, a wide paint brush and some paint.

So the paint color I am using is called Midnight. It is a very dark blue.

Next step is to pour the paint in a plastic container wide enough for the brush.

Dip the tip of the brush into the paint and start lightly brushing across the canvas. It does not have to be evenly covered.

Continue doing the entire canvas.

Once completely painted, take a smaller brush and a bowl with some warm water. Dip brush in water and let excess drip off. Take brush and start going over areas where paint is thick and blend into areas where paint didn't totally cover canvas.

This is what it is supposed to look like. The water softens the brush strokes. Continue over canvas.

Next I added another color . I used French teal.

Add to container and use same wide brush.

Start brushing on teal color, and use small brush with water to blend afterwards.

So here is my canvas painted.

I was initially going to paint on my words but changed my mind and opted to use this faux wood peel and stick from the dollar store. You can also use mac tac paper.

Here is what it looks like. After searching the internet and looking at various signs for ideas I came up with this simple one. I started drawing it out on the faux wood and cut out my design.

So I opted for a tree branch.

Next I cut out two birds.

After determining placement, I removed the backing and pressed to canvas. Next I traced out the letters for my quote and cut with scissors. You can use stencils if you have them. I did mine free hand.

So here they are cut out. This is the most time consuming part of the project. After determining the placement, peel off backing and stick to the canvas.

Here is my sign complete.

Next I took this picture hanging thingy and attached it to the back of my sign.

So here is my sign on my accent wall.

I love how this turned out. It was easy to create and I can easily change out the quote by simply peeling off the letters.
