Since I'm not a great builder from scratch, I love to find interesting parts at a thrift shop and transform them with very little effort into a useful or decorative household piece.
My most recent thrift shop makeover begins with a small wooden ironing board and a wooden napkin holder.
As you can see, the ironing board becomes a shelf back and the napkin holder become the shelves.
On the napkin holder shelves are two vintage miniature irons.
The shelf was base coated in black and top coated in ASCP in Old White. A one inch alphabet stencil is used for the lettering. Complete details for this project can be found on my blog.
