Mr & Mrs Stencil

My neighbor had these left over pine tongue and groove pieces from a ceiling project he was doing and asked me if I wanted them. Not one to pass down nice looking and better yet scrap wood, I said Yes!

First thing I did was cut the ends of the outside pieces off to make them flat. Basically I cut the tongue off of one end and the groove of the other end. Then I glued them together.

I also knew I wanted them to be in a frame so I grabbed some lath strips from my stash and cut them to size.

Next, I painted the pine 3X with white paint. I painted the lath 2X with black paint.

After the paint was dry I cut out a stencil with my Cricut of Mr & Mrs using the Vivaldi Com font.

I took my pouncer and added a little paint to it and dabbed some off and away I pounced!

Once I took off the stencil I had a few touch up spots to fix as you can see on Mrs. When I was taking the stencil off it fell back onto wood. Darn it! But it was an easy fix.😜

I used wood glue and clamps to put it altogether. I also added a “D“ hook to the back for hanging.

And there you have it! I think it would look great next to someone’s wedding photo! This project didn’t cost me a thing because I already had everything I needed. But, if I had to guesstimate a cost I would say $10-15 for supplies.
