So I’ve never heard of Anthropologie products before, but I was challenged to create my own knock off. And after looking through their site, I picked this one which I loved!! And I’ll be out of town for a bit so I’m doing it early!!
So this is my Anthropologie inspiration, there is just something about making letters that I so enjoy, and when I find a new way to make one, I will!! I knew I could tackle this one.
Here are my supplies, All I used was a 5x4 piece of wood, and my texture paste jar I received from Hometalk! And a paint brush.
The first thing I did was I measured the size I wanted.
Once the letter E was cut out, I then gave it to my husband to carve out the areas I needed to be carved to get that distressed look.
So my husband is the carving expert, but he has been ill for a while, so I wasn’t sure he’d be up to it, but he did it for me! So first he cut out the area I needed done.
Then he used his ritery tool to clean it up.
Then once he finished his part, I sanded down the letter, then I stained it a little, just enough to make a little difference.
Then I added the texture paste to the areas I choose to put it on. So, here is my version of the Ice Crackle Monogram. I think it came out pretty well!

What would happen if you added sparkle to the glue while it was wet? And maybe let it Drip down from parts of it...like it was melting? Just wondered. Nice idea though.

Did you post the final photo? The last image I could see wasn't dry. But other than that, I think you nailed it! Very cool! I love letters, so I appreciated your choice of product! ;-)

I may try this, but I might add an inlay of solder. I've seen solder used to make an inlay of the superman crest so some sort of inlay on the letters might look nice. Great idea on making letters. Thank You
