Nail Polish Shelf
I love my recent project! I used an old wooden photo frame to create a sweet shelf for nail polish. Check it out.
I started off with this old wooden frame. I turned it over, and measured the inside of the frame. I wanted to build a box to fit within. I then cut some scrap wood to the right size.
Here you can see the top and bottom sides in place.
I then fit in the other two pieces.
Next I put one nail in each corner to make sure it fits nicely.
I then added a cross bar that would act as the shelf, but I did not nail it in yet.
Before it was fully secured into the frame, I painted it a flat black.
Once it fully dried, I flipped the frame back to the front, and nailed the shelf in from the front.
There it is!
I then used black chalk paint and touched up the nail holes and any scuffs on the frame.
I then measured and cut a thin backing.
Then I used some wood patterned contact paper on the front side of the backing.
I then stapled the backing into the frame, with the wood grain facing the front.
Then I attached some hooks and wire to the back to hang it from.
And here it is hanging! I love it! See more at Gilbert Marketplace
