I’m generally a simple and safe person when it comes to design and decorating. However, I decided to take a risk and paint the nursery shiplap wall a dark blue. My friend painted her nursery wall Benjamin Moore Hale Navy, and I really liked it so I decided to use the same color! We don’t have a Benjamin Moore store where we live but if you go to Sherwin Williams, they can color match it. So that’s exactly what I did. The Sherwin Williams employee encouraged me to get the more expensive paint because I would only need one coat. Unfortunately, I had to do several. My pain brush also wouldn’t fit in the groves of the shiplap, so I had to use a makeup brush to go in between the shiplap and it was pretty time consuming. I taped the below the bottom of the wall so I wouldn’t get the paint on the carpet. I also used a drop cloths to protect the carpet. Painting a dark color is very difficult because it’s not like a light color that matches a white ceiling, but it’s very obvious when you get it on the ceiling or other walls. So, take your time or even considering taping it!

This was more toward the end when I was almost done.

This was after my second coat, definitely needed one more.

This was my friend’s wall that I loved. Copied ideas are the best ideas.

After my first coat.

Finished product. So happy with how it turned out.
