Pallet Beach Clock
I saw a photo of this posted several years ago. I don't recall where. And told myself I can make this. Well I started out good I actually got the entire wood part done two years ago. But that's where it stopped. Today I said I am going to finish this. And I did.
To start I took left over pallet pieces and glued them together. It was a square to begin with. Don't have that picture. I drew a circle on it. To make it a little more sturdy screwed two more thin pieces to the back in the opposite direction, as you can see in the 3rd photo. My neighbor was kind enough to use his jigsaw to cut the circle out for me.
Here is the clock parts I purchased from Michaels.

Did a little caulking and then drilled the hole for the clock parts. Then did some light sanding.
I found some white pearlescent paint I had. Thought this would be good as I am going for a beach look and wanted the wood grain to show thru. So I took a rag and applied it to the edges and the face.
To keep with the beach look I did the same with some turquoise paint I had on hand.
I forgot to take a photo of the writing I did on the face. But you'll see that in the next picture. Here are the shells I had on hand along with my E6000 glue.
He is the writing I did. First drew in pencil then painted. Went over the entire clock face again with some pearlescent and turquoise paint. Strategically placed the shells where numbers would be.
Finally attached the clock hands and added a battery and voila!!!
I think I may go over the letters again to make them stand out more. I sprayed a polyacrylic all over it. I love my "Beach Time", I hope you do too.
