How do I find out if a wall is load bearing or not without tearing do?

    You will be looking closely at the structure of your house. Here is a link: https://www.wikihow.com/Tell-if-a-Wall-is-Load-Bearing. If you are still not sure ask a contractor or a friend/family member who has carpentry experience.

    Not sure how you tell, but if it is, you can still remove it and put in a large beam at the ceiling level to hold the weight.

    HI Jennifer. It is possible that you have the drawing for the home when it was built. I have mine and received them at the closing. Otherwise you should be able to get blue prints from your local city or village hall. It should be listed on the blue prints of what walls are load bearing.

    You can go up in the attic, if you ghave beans running from that wall to the roof, it is load bearing.
