I lived in military housing and we move every 2 to 4 years. I had a friend who covered her walls with fabric. She would take sheets and liquid starch. Soak the sheets into the starch - I'm not sure if she diluted the starch or not. She would then hang them on the walls - made sure the seams would overlap a little - smooth out all the air bubbles and wrinkles. After they dried she would staple them at the top to keep them from getting loose and falling down.
We are renovating our guest bathroom. We put up vinyl wallpaper along the tub/shower wall. I am not worried about the wallpaper itself getting wet because it is viny...
