How do I cover dark wood paneling?

the whole room is pine wood paneling ,put width of room=====,I would like to cover at least one wall as it is dark

I painted my wood paneling , a light gray , it totally transformed the room !!!
I lived in an apartment that was entirely covered in wood paneling. I was allowed to fix the place up to my liking. I just used a spackle/filler in the channels. It adheres really well as these channels typically have a very rough surface.
Make sure the channels are all filled adequately after it dries and touch up accordingly. Sand to even out the texture and paint the whole wall. You may need a primer if the wall is shiny or discolored. When your done you'll never know it was paneling when. Hope this helps
