Rustic Barnwood Mason Jar Welcome Sign

I know this isn't an original idea, but I love and decided to make one for myself.
I used a piece of reclaimed barn wood that we had leftover from building our vintage log cabin. You can visit my blog using the link at the bottom of this post to see more about how we built a small log cabin using logs from a circa 1860s cabin. Back to the sign -
I cut the board to the length I wanted, gave it a light sanding and cleaned it off before painting the word WELCOME on it.
I let the paint dry overnight and then lightly sanded it to give it a more worn look. I added eyelet rings to the top of the board along with a piece of rusty wire to make a hanger. Then I sprayed a clear matte protective finish over the whole sign before adding the mason jar clamp.
I used a pipe clamp to attach the mason jar to the board. I screwed the clamp onto the board, then inserted the mason jar into the clamp and tightened it to hold the jar securely. The clamp can be loosened or tightened easily with a flat head screwdriver. This makes removing the jar to freshen up the flowers an easy task.
Now just add fresh flowers!
