I was gifted with the sea glass that my in laws collected over many years and the wooden birds that my father in law cut out and wanted to make something with them.

I bought this wooden frame on clearance at Joann's. It was just under 7.00. I had a choice, fold clothes or make art. I think I chose wisely.

Look at all of that beautiful sea glass and also, sea ceramics. Bits of ceramic plates worn down by the ocean.

The first thing I did was paint the birds, more of a dry painting as I left some of the wood exposed.

I frequently shop at the Home Depot and found these bargains.

I mixed them with some water and made 3 colors to use. Sorry about the receipt and mail I blotted out.

I used a hammer and nail to make a pilot hole for the birds to go into. The birds had been in a box with the metal so I used that. My father in law had drilled the tiny holes in the birds previously. I miss him so very much.

I used this tool to snip the metal to the right height.

sorting out where the birds will be placed.

I used to E-6000 to glue the sea glass to the wood. I love that piece of sea ceramic. There are a few more pieces but not that particular plate.

I dipped the end of the metal into the E-6000 glue and put it into the pilot holes.

I waited patiently for it to dry and am thrilled with the results. A great way to honor my in laws. My mother in law has dementia and my father in law passed away years ago. I worked on this on and off for 2 days so I don't know how long it took. It probably took me longer to sort through the sea glass and chose the pieces I wanted to use than to make. The glue took a few hours to dry as well.
