Stone Feature Wall

3 Materials

I hated having to paint over and over a wall section which constantly stained, so I found 2 stones.. one like a fish head and the other a fish tale and it went from there...

found other stones to make up the whole fish then bought a bag of flat grey pebbles and kept going...

thought it would be boring with just one fish so kept going.. I don't like mosaics with big gaps so it was a bit tedious finding just the right shapes but worth it in the end...

Went crazy with sea-life when I found this rock that looked like a crab shell..

Didn't use liquid nails -turps clean up, as it takes so long to dry the rocks sag!

Coming together nicely.. used a midnight dark grey grout to finish...

Partner is a Scorpio so had to add this one for him I guess if we want to keep it to the sea-life theme it could be a scampi or rock-lobster!!

I finished off with a clear rock sealer after all the powdery grout was cleaned off the stones....

Now it's just a wipe over with a damp cloth every couple of months.. well worth the trouble and a great look that gets heaps of compliments.

Suggested materials:
