Succulent Dustpan Decor
This adorable Succulent Dustpan Decor will add a fun, rustic touch to your home. Hang it or use it as a shelf sitter, the choice is yours. If you love rustic, country decor this is a quick and easy DIY out of an old metal dustpan.
I couldn’t wait to share this Succulent Dustpan Decor with you! It is seriously one of the cutest decor DIYs. Grab an old rusty metal dustpan from your local antique shop and lets get busy!
Here is what you need to make your succulent dustpan decor:
- Old metal dustpan
- Screen or chicken wire
- Moss
- Succulents
- Hot glue
- E6000
- Floral foam optional
How to make a succulent dustpan
Grab your dustpan and screen. You will want to wrap the screen around the bottom of the dustpan with it being about 1/4 of the way up. Glue it on the back to secure. You will want a little give to create a pocket. Here you have a choice to either go ahead and use the E6000 to secure with the hot glue and let dry overnight before moving on. Or doing the E6000 at the end.
Depending on how much space you left for your pocket and how long the stems of your succulents are, will determine if you need the floral foam to put in the bottom. I didn’t end up using it. So, now just fill the pocket up with moss. Then you will start placing the succulents throughout the pocket to create your arrangement. Giving dimension and I added one on the outside of the screen to create the look as it grew through the old screen.
If you did not put the E6000 on to let dry before you started adding the moss and succulents, this is where you will need to turn your finished dustpan over and add. This is for extra hold.
Here is a short video tutorial so you can see exactly how to put it all together.
