This beautiful table runner turned wall art was easy peasy. The most difficult part was ordering frames, which wasn’t hard at all!

First I ordered two frames that would fit the total length of the table runner - divided by two. I then laid it out, and pressed it wrong side up.

I then aligned the top of the pattern to the frame and sort of “upholstered” the fabric to the back.

Once it was even and tight I cut the edges with fabric scissors . I was very nervous for this part! It’s hand embroidered linen so I was sure to make an even cut , then I put glue on the edges so it didn’t fray. Once this dries you turn under the edge and press it into the frame so to ensure nothing is hanging out of the edge of the frame when it’s on the wall.

Lastly I aligned the frames on my buffet so they can be displayed! I love using unexpected items such as tapestry, embroidery, fabric to bring an added element of texture and interest to a space !

Fabric such as this will be easier to pull taut over the frame if it is pressed flat first.

For hand embroidered textured fabric, turn upside down on the ironing board, then lay a towel over the fabric. Press (not iron) using steam setting on the iron, then lay flat on a table to dry out before mounting.
