Feeling Proud: An Easy Way to "vintage" Your Kitchen!

I did my stove handles and knobs in a vintage red, then I sanded all the knobs on my drawers and cupboards and painted them as well.
Top of stove with a very red tea pot.
Both handles painted.
Shall I paint the fridge handles red as well?

My stove is all digital and yours sort of lent itself to a more retro feel...who knows what the future holds, though! If it goes out your updo will make me think twice about what I pass up! Btw...I'm a teapot junky...that ones great!

My grandmother had a red kitchen sink and red carpeting in her dining room- as a child I thought this was luxury- it's a -1858 farmhouse still standing and beautiful

  • Love a red and white kitchen. To me it always seems happy! And yes, I would paint the fridge too. It might be too much for some, but I think it would look cool, be a conversation piece and to break up the "hunk o red" you could place some magnetic hooks and display your pretty red and white potholders and mitts.

We're the cabinet knobs porcelain? If so how di you get the paint to stay. I tried painting porcelain knobs and the paint has started coming off.

I did have an issue with the knobs on the cupboards and yours. They're definitely not porcelain. I want to say they are a very hard plastic. After I painted them and then sprayed the clear coat on, that's when they immediately started to crackle. I don't mean the knobs themselves , what I mean is the paint started to Crackle. So I responded and painted them again with no clear coat.

What kind of paint did you use to paint the stove's chrome handle red? Also, would spraying some red strawberry-shaped kitchen knobs with clear polyurethane keep the red craft paint that I painted them with from peeling/chipping? I LOVE a red and white "vintage" kitchen. In fact, it is my dream to have a 1940s-50s stove and refridgerator which have been "internally" updated with today's technology. Does anyone have one of these updated but still vintage appliances?

I love it! Beautifully personalized ❤️ and not totally neutral and in-personable like so many young adults in my region prefer. I'll bet you smile every time you enter your kitchen
