I have washed them off with the hose and also sprayed with environmental safe sprayed. Neither has worked. What to do?
i do love silk flowers they look so real, my faves are the hydrangeas and roses.
my fav way to use silk flowers is to always have a nice arrangement on my coffee table.
I like framing them. I hang them on a wall in a picture frame for decor that really 'pops'.
I love putting silk flower wreaths on my doors to go with the seasons. I usually try to make my own but this wreath is beautiful and I would proudly display it on my front door. :)
try a silk flower on presents.
We chose white shutters to cover our winows to minimize dust, and it needed a statement piece in our living room.
I love to use silk flowers on my front and back doors. Also, since I have no windows in my bathroom, I use silk flowers to give it a back to nature environment.
Thank you, a good friend and I went to our favorite craft store, chose the vase and just started choosing fall flowers and put them in the vase until it was very full. We brought them home, put them where they would remain and went to work on my "Statement piece". The hummingbird of hand blown glass was made especially for this project.
I love using silk flowers for many different crafts, but I especially love them in an arrangement in our guest bedroom. Since it doesn't get regular use I tend to forget about going in there to water real flowers so fake ones are perfect ;)
I love the versatility of silk flowers. I use them for wreaths, in a vase on my dinning table, small arrangements for the bathrooms using old glass jars. You cannot go wrong with silk flowers, and this beautiful wreath will be the highlight of our front porch. I cannot wait to hang this delicate wreath on our front door . Thank you . I arranged ragged silk roses in a vase and placed in on top of our amour . It's beautiful, it makes me smile
I use silk flowers indoors in various vases. Outdoors, I have many large and small containers where I plant my annuals every year. I mix silk flowers in with some of them and some I just use the silk. No one can tell the difference and I'm assured of beautiful, full, and colourful arrangements from spring to fall.
I have used them to make floral "crowns", and also as decor on Easter bonnets for my granddaughters. Also around the home, sometimes displayed in vases, or around a door frame for special occasions. Have also made pretty corsages with them.
I use silk flowers in every room of my home. From the front door to the bathroom to our bedroom! Silk flowers make it easier to transition my home from one season to the next! They are a staple in my craft room
I would use them in a basket or a wreath. I need one for my door,as I'm not very crafty.
Door wreaths to brighten dark colored door shaded under entry enclosure.
Long six foot floral strands really dress up the black wrought iron headboard. I also put a few silk flowers in my many potted plants (air filtering) to break up the monotony of green. I have a large 3ft urn in the foyer (bi level stairs) & it really lends an air of elegance w/large white magnolias w/ long stems. Wreaths on front door, bathrooms. Anywhere you need a pop of color in a room!
I use silk flowers for everything to add color and personality to dark rooms. I dress up my desk at work with bright colorful silk flowers, I use them in my room and throughout my house. I create beautiful flower crowns for my photography business and make wreaths for our visits to the cemetery. I find unusual vases at the thrift store and create beautiful centerpieces. I love silk flowers and will continue to collect and create. They make me smile!
My favorite use for silk flowers is to make seasonal wreaths for my 3 outside doors and also for walls, on occasion.
I like to change things up!

I like to use one perfect silk peony in an antique bottle as part of a shelf vignette. Makes me smile every time I enter the room!
I have a tall urn which I keep branches in. These are decorated for holidays. For summer I use silk flowers on the limbs to look as tho they are growing. Easy to change and keep summer in a corner of my living room.
I use the silk flowers everywhere! I have a beautiful arrangement on my table and in wreaths. I love peonies, hydrangeas,, English roses and lilacs, ferns. Gorgeous wreath! I would love to have it!
My daughter had an outdoor wedding and we used mostly silk flowers and greenery to decorate the archway and bridge.
I use silk flowers both on wreaths for my own use, and also for gifts. They add a bright spot of color on top of my kitchen cupboard from the wedding arrangement that I also made myself!
Hello, my favorite use for silk flowers in my home is simple flower arrangements and am dying to try it with acrylic water, which I did not know the name of until reading this thread, thank you! Also, I like to put them in my horse's mane or put in bridle and on my hat to match, they are great because they never wilt!
I use silk flowers for all sorts of projects, but especially wreaths!
I have a beautiful flower pot that hangs on the wall. I like to put real flowers in it but occasionally I change it out with silk flowers. I also use them on birthday packages and in door wreaths.
I have created custom made 'everlasting' floral arrangements and wreaths for clients for over 25 years, changing up and refreshing them when asked. Love purples so your wreath is lovely. What I have found, however, is most of my clients like less of the grapevine showing and don't mind the additional cost. I have done double sided wreaths for those who want to enjoy in a front window, inside as well as outside.
Thanks! So did my client.
I have a circular 1/2 basket that hangs flat against my brick wall on my porch. I fill it with "sale" silks, hang it on the wall and wait. Invariably, she comes. She builds her nest and has the perfect camouflaged with built in shelter from the elements for her and her babies comfort. At first I worried about her reaction to us coming and going, but it's like she knows we're no threat. The best part is watching the babies come out and learn to fly. Going from the nest to my plant stand and back. Then in 3-4 days they're gone. In the fall, I empty the basket, clean it and store it for the next spring. She's getting a new basket this year as the old one is getting a bit tattered. Here's a picture of the babies perched on my plant stand about 4 feet from the nesting basket.
Love using silk flowers for arrangement, especially in Fall to Winter months when flowers outside are not in bloom.
Thank you to everyone that responded with great ways to use faux flowers in your home. So much inspiration!
