Both of these pieces were headed to the landfill when I Picked them. That headboard....really? Trash? And the Vintage Hepplewhite pulls on the Cabinet.....I KNEW I could save them.....so they were "married" to create a newly loved Bench!
I took the headboard and cleaned her up with 50/50 Vinegar and Water and Rinse. And now it is ready for paint!
I chose Kristi Kuehl Pure Home Paints in Cali Taupe and my trusty Cling-on! Brush....
Two coats, and now I decided that I wanted to trim off the legs, so it sat better with the cabinet....
So off they came!
Here is the ADORABLE, perfect bench height record cabinet...but it was missing the back, so this was an ideal pairing!
I pre-drilled holes, and attached them with 3 inch screws, and Wood glue.
I painted the base, added Derby Black accents, distressed her and Pure Home Paints Ebony Protective Glaze to "antique".
Now she is a GORGEOUS repurposed piece of functioning furniture for her future new home! Complete with shoe cubbies!
