I bought this old bench at a thrift store with the thought I would reupholster it. I got as far as taking off the buttons and bottom fabric.
This bench is not my style. I left it in the bedroom and never even noticed how ratty it was looking. I finally realized I needed to do something when I saw furniture legs in my stash in the garage. I became inspired to sew a slip cover from a drop cloth.
I painted the new legs with DIY chalk paint. Then waxed them with clear wax.
I added the legs and put the slipcover on the bench and it fits in with my bedroom decor. Now the cat isn't very happy because he enjoyed using the bench as a scratch ing post but he has accepted the new look
