Hi, it’s Brittany from Our Home Made Easy! I am passionate about sharing easy DIY projects around the house for other busy families.

Today I wanted to share an update for our mudroom space.

[I include several tutorials]
Our mudroom was an empty space in our new construction home. Our home builder offered to install small shelving, but at a high cost.

We decided to pass on the builder upgrades and find a solution that would work for us when we had the time & money.
First we painted the Walls (Behr Ultra ‘Ashen Tan’). The left most wall was painted an ultra white color for the bench and wall treatment in the plans.
After painting the room, we built a custom bench. I found the large baskets from Target to slide under each space.

For stain, we used (affiliate link) this color.
Once the board & batten was installed, we installed 4 of these coat hooks. They were less than $2 apiece. They hold our bags & coats well!
The last thing we did was build this mail organizer to handle our daily papers. While my husband built it, it's inspired from plans found on the Shanty 2 Chic blog.

We used the same stain as the bench.
Thank you so much for checking out my mudroom ready for the winter weather!
