How do I build an entryway bench for storing shoes?

We bought one at Lowe’s cheaper than we could build it. I painted and added vinyl clings for a toy box 3 years ago. It has held up well and I know she is rougher than your family would be. 😝. It has a hinged seat.

Jacqueline....If you have an old bookcase you could use...could even add doors and if it is tall you can use a portion of it to display items as well as a pretty floral display. Good luck

Hi ! I saw a tutorial on this site fairly recently , where someone bought 3 or 4 wooden crates , attached them ( open end facing foward ) to a wooden plank .

they put either casters or small ball legs on the underside of the plank . Then attached another plank on top of the crates and painted or stained the whole thing , put a cushion on the top and baskets inside the crates !

Jacqueline, have you considered using baskets or faux woven baskets (plastic but look like real woven reeds) to put the shoes in on a shoe bench? That might help hide them. Here is a tutorial on building a shoe bench where the kids can sit down to remove shoes and put on slippers etc to keep feet warm in the house. I love fabric cubes because they look clean and neat with little effort. I would just slide a couple under a regular bench

You need a long box with a lid with hinges to open and add a cushion on top plywood and some 2 x4 s for the frame
