Hardware for my front entrance door

My home is dark red brick, traditional with a black steep roof, a porch across the entire front with white columns and black wrought iron rail. The lights beside the door are black with seeded glass. The shutters and front door will be painted black. I can't decide if the door hardware should be black or satin nickel. Help Please! Thanks!

  • Personally, I like contrast so I would go for the nickel. Good luck...I'm sure it will look nice whatever you do. Your home sounds lovely!

My opinion only. Think there is too much black. I would do the door a dif colour and go with nickel or brass which is making a comeback.

Because the metal railing and metal lights are black, the door hardware should be black - though I would consider painting the door something else besides black.

I would go with a dark, natural wood door with black clavos (large nail heads) like a craftsman door. Perhaps even have a speakeasy with a black iron grate over the opening? Google Craftsman doors/Clavos on doors/speak easy on doors for examples....
