You could use an over the door shoe set up, or use the clear plastic shoe boxes that you can stack on the floor of your closet.

  • Purchase large baking sheets and slide under your bed. If you have room room for storage cubes to be used as extra seeting or at the foot of your bed, you can store shoes, purses, hats, gloves, scarves in them.

I store mine in the bottom drawer of my dresser. It keeps them out of the way and limits my spending sprees on new shoes unneeded shoes :)

Most closets have a shelf above the hanging rod. I put mine in transparent plastic shoe boxes ($1.00 @ Dollar Tree) and stack. You can see what is inside. May require a small step stool.

Most people don't consider the vertical space in small apartments. Consider putting them in storage containers beneath the bed, on the back of the bedroom door in a shoe pocket hanger, in an ottoman, as decor on high shelves and any number of other ways. See if you don't find this helpful:

I've put them on the back of the bedroom door on a hanger. I've seen folks get old dresser drawers and put them on casters, put a cloth on top and roll them under the bed.
