Console Table Makeover & Thoughts on Chalk Paint

This table by Pier One was a piece we bought a to use as a narrow desk in a closet-turned-office
When we didn't need it anymore, I decided to give it a makeover and sell!
Here's how it looked in our house :(. We bought used and someone painted the base black. Terrible paint job!
Since the paint job was terrible and there wasn't any prep done, I had to strip it off. I stripped this thing 4 times. It was gross!!!
I sanded and primed the top. Once the black paint was stripped off, I sanded the legs smooth to prep for paint (I did not prep the legs with primer).
The table was painted in @countrychicpaint 's "Elegance" chalk paint and sealed with @generalfinishes topcoat. For my 2 cents on chalk paint, see my blog. I like it for some projects, but it's not an excuse for sloppy work. Good painting is 95% prep.
The top was painted with @generalfinishes "antique white" and sealed with their topcoat.
New ceramic white and blue knobs were added - the original knobs weren't anything special.
A lot of work for a small piece.
But gorgeous results!
