Thirty Day Flip Sofa Table

I purchased this sad, '90's sofa table for $12.
It came complete with rattan inserts on the bottom and smoked glass inserts on the top. It's a quality piece, solid wood and very stable.
Close up of the rattan. It was secured into the opening with glue, nails & staples, so removing it was a long process. I did mess up the wood in a few places, but a little sanding & some wood putty fixed it up.
After painting the entire table, I gave my new wood inserts (made of 1/4" MDF) a good base coat of the Maxi Teal paint.
I used spray adhesive to secure the burlap to the top of the inserts and turned to my newly acquired pneumatic staple gun to attach the burlap underneath.
It took several coats of Maxi Teal to get the burlap completely covered. In retrospect, spray paint may have been easier in the long run. Finally, I slipped the complete inserts into the openings & secured them with small brads. I love the results & the color is AWESOME.

Suggested materials:
- I used my Craftsman palm sander to rid the table of it's shine. I primed the entire piece with a hi (Sherwin Williams)
- I purchased about a yard and a half of unbleached burlap to use to cover the new wood inserts I was (The burlap was purchased at Joann Fabrics.)

What was the width and length of the wood you used? This looks like mine that is missing the glass.
