Painted Rug

Area Rugs are so $$$$. Got rug remnant from flooring store. Used painters tape to tape off design and painted rug with acrylic wall paint. I haunt the OOPS paints. Used a stiff old paint brush to force the paint into the rug. It did leave the rug a bit stiff, I didn't mind. The color lasted for many years before I got tired of it and will do another one.
Here is the rug with tape and the starting of painting with acrylic paint. . Started with a beige rug.
This is the finished hall rug. Started with a beige rug. The original rug is showing through between the colors.
This is the dining room rug. Just did the border using the colors of the walls so everything blends together
Here is the living room rug in progress. Abstract design.
In living room. Did not do anything to the edges of the rug except pull off the unattached yarn and cut away the strings. Held up great through vacuuming .
Entry area. . I was very co-ordinated. If you are concerned about raveling, hot glue with stop it and help with slipping.
