If not putting up any ceiling: Go Spray Foam! Regular R30 Bats will just fall down no matter what installation method used. Plus foam will not mold with any moisture you may have in basement.

If putting up a ceiling either drywall or drop ceiling it is your choice. Both would be good. R30 bats would be more budget friendly. You could also consider sound barrier depending on your needs. Foam is great if you have the budget for it. It seals everything up so no draft between floors.

Hope this opinion helps you out.

If the insulation is going in over your head, maybe the batts would work best. Once installed, then cover the whole area with a 4 mil plastic, stapling it to the floor joists.
