Faux Tin Ceiling

I love the look of tin ceilings. I would like to install some in my house but the cost is too great for my budget. I've heard there is another way to get the look and be cost effective. Also how do I install them?

There is paintable wallpaper that mimics the designs found on tin ceilings. We painted ours with copper metallic paint and antiqued it. Silver paint would be the same idea as a tin ceiling. Inexpensive and easy.
There are foam tiles that you can paint to look like tin tiles.
I have found some foam tiles on Amazon for as little as $3 each... follow the instruction for install (most call for construction adhesive and brad nails)
there are light weight fiberglass/plastic 2 x 2' squares available on Amazon -- you can paint/distress any way you like.
