Floating flooring or ceramic tiles for dining room floor?

Currently have carpet in my dining room. Doesn’t work well with grandchildren. Would the wood looking ceramic tile be worth the extra cost or should we install floating wood floors?

Floating wood floors will not solve your problem. Commercial grade tile, or scrubbable carpeting are better options. Be aware that cheap tile can crack if something is dropped on it. Good underlayment should help, as well.

you can get Lino/ vynial sheet goods in a wood look. Much easier to clean than tile. I’ve never liked wall to wall carpet in a kitchen or dining room either. If you do tile, seal the grout.

Love those grandchildren. There is a wood look vinyl flooring that looks really good and cleans well.

I love the new "vinyl planks". It all looks great, several colors and very inexpensive.
