Wide plank vinyl flooring , tile, laminate, engineered wood flooring.... basically anything you want to put there... depending on your skill level and of course your budget.

wood floors or sheet goods- good old Lino. Get curtians you can throw in a washing machine as well pollens can get trapped in the fabric.

Allergy proof flooring would be luxury vinyl plank, if the floor is concrete - you could stain it. If there is hardwood flooring, I would refinish it.

Oh, and if your going to do hardwoods, I would use the real hardwoods, not engineered wood or laminate cause they outgass formeldehyde which will make you sick if your allergic. You can always buy some used hardwoods at an architectural recycler or sometimes Habitat for Humanity Restore.

Tile is a good option, look for overstock or check places like Habitat for Humanity. You can also Just paint the concrete a solid base color and clear seal it. Or you can faux finish as tile, brick or even a fringed carpet. Stencil or freehand; do a checkerboard (black and white) with lots of red and yellow accents in the room; turquoise and white and go nautical...or country chic;... paint makes the options endless! You can also paint a piece of linoleum for a 'rug' to put over an area for an accent. Use yourimagination, look at pictures, ask a friend to help - or not- and just go for it! Yiu nought need to sand it first - rent one.

I have really bad allergies and can relate

Betty Jean, we also had to remove all our carpet, and I’m finding I much prefer no carpet after seeing all the dirt that had worked it’s way through the carpet and padding! We had porcelain tiles installed that mimic wood to an amazing degree and they come in so many choices. It’s easy to clean, high resistant to water penetration and durable. There are wood like vinyls available too that are almost as tough. Not knowing what was underneath your carpeting these are my suggestions. I’ve seen plywood floors sanded and stained and sealed that also came out very pretty 😻

Pre-finished hardwoods (to avoid refinishing in your home), and real linoleum. Marmoleum is one brand. Stay away from vinyl, laminate and engineered floors. They are loaded with chemicals.
