Heed help with bathroom floor, ideas?

Cheapest and easiest a beautiful runner, or two if it’s longer.

So do I Sally. I have the same problem as you do, only mine are from 1974 and, of course, the grout isnt white anymore, not that it ever will be.

I was told by a contractor to do a skim coat. Yours are in mint condition. How about thinking of a colored design, put on graph paper and paint individual squares anything but white?

Have you considered peel and stick tiles? They are available at DIY stores and also Amazon.

First clean the floor, especially the grout, very well. You can accomplish this with using real Coca-Cola letting it sit than wiping dry and rinsing with water.

Then, I agree with Elaine… Beautiful rugs can take center stage in this bathroom. Some that are extremely cushy and luxurious. Perhaps a favorite color of yours?

Start by cleaning entire floor, as stated above. I would paint a border on the tiles around the outside edge Of the entire space (2 or 3 tiles deep). You might even find a small accent stencil that would fit. Use a color that compliments your bath. Then add a complimentary bath runner to add color to the center part of the floor.

Sally: altho it takes some work, regrouting in a color -- with matching painted baseboards might be a fun option! ie: blue

Would you consider a new up to date tile? You can tile right over the existing 1x1's. It is a matter of regrout the little 1x1, smooth over, lay new tile.

Oh, I would love your tiled floor instead of mine which is two tone. I have seen some fantastic tile stencil patterns on Cutting Edge Stencils and Royal Design stencils. It seems like a very easy project and would make your bathroom sing. You could do a stencil here and there instead of covering the whole floor if you like. Very trendy.
