When a steam mop is left in one position too long or hard water is used in the water tank, white spots will be left on your floor. Remove them by:
Step 1
Moisten one end of a towel with undiluted white vinegar.
Step 2
Wipe away the white spot with the towel.
Step 3
Moisten the opposite end of the towel with water and wipe the vinegar from the floor. The vinegar smell will go away once it is dry.
Step 4
Use distilled water in your steam mop tank to prevent future white spots on your floor.
Try rubbing the spot with some white vinegar.
White vinegar to the rescue. apply it to the area where it is lightened.
Clean with Acetone or denatured alcohol
Hi David, I would advise against using a steam mop on a laminate floor. Over time the steam will warp the edges and cause gaps between the planks. These gaps allow moisture to creep under the plank and cause even more damage.

Sand the scorch mark lightly, going with the grain, to remove the topmost layer of charred wood. Rub mineral oil over the scorch mark with a soft pad and then scrub the mark with fine steel wool, going with the grain.... Scrape any remaining burn marks with a utility knife.
Hi David, hope this helps you out.
