The area rug is on top of carpet but somehow it keeps getting a wrinkle in it. I'm constantly pulling the wrinkle out.Any advice?
When a rug puckers, it's been my experience that it needs to be stretched again, like they did when they installed it. That is assuming, it's wall-to-wall carpet. If it's an area rug, you can put a GOOD BRAND (not cheap stuff) of double sided carpet tape on the area rug. Put the tape on all 4 sides, then put a big X from corner to corner Pull off the paper from the side that goes down.. Move your coffee table, put the rug down, then lift the coffee table and put it back. That should work. You'll occasionally have to replace the tape but it will help the problem. BTW, if it IS wall-to-wall carpeting, you'll probably have to call in a specialist from a carpet store to fix it. Wishing you the best.
Is the rug a rug?...large or small? carpet?
Area carpet or installed wall to wall carpet?
We have had to once get our wall to wall carpet professionally stretched...the excess was cut-out, edges refastened problem solved.
If you're talking about a decorator rug laying on top of carpet, I have the same problem and fight this losing battle all the time. I think the fibers of the carpet and rug make it crawl and wrinkle up. I don't know what the magic answer is! Sorry.
You need to place something a little larger than the legs of your table UNDER the rug. This gives each leg the support it needs to unpucker the rug. Don't make the support piece too thick, just enough to give it a clean look.
Is this a area rug?
